English term or phrase: immediately the effect that
When our sales person had the "able" messages pointed out to him from his succesful colleague, immediately the effect that he distorted them.

Secondo voi che manca in questa frase? che continua con la domanda successiva "had an excellent day"????

Italian translation:manca il verbo?
Explanation:
Secondo me manca il verbo 'was' :

"...immediately the effect WAS that he distorted them"

ma la frase sembra e' comunque strana
Forse avrebbe piu' senso riscritta come indico sotto, con le modifiche in caratteri maiuscoli:

When our sales person had the "able" messages pointed out to him BY his succesful colleague, the IMMEDIATE effect WAS that he distorted them.

"he replied to the effect that..."

Explanation:

Explanation:
Nota il "from" his successful colleague, che dovrebbe essere "by". Certamente l'originale non era in inglese!
