non riesco a capire il senso di questa frase. secondo me dovrebe essere "coronary artery lesions of the shoulder regions" o sto prendendo un abbaglio?
ecco il contesto:
Infiltrating macrophages and neutrophils participate in the transformation of stable coronary artery plaques to unstable lesions with a thin fibrous cap with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) and unstable angina (UA) than in patients with stable CAD. Macrophages secrete matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and metal-independent MPO, which degrade the collagen layer that protects atheromas from erosion or abrupt rupture. As a result, plaques that have been highly infiltrated with macrophages have a thin fibrous cap and are vulnerable to erosion or rupture, precipitating events to ACS. This is particularly true in the ***shoulder regions of coronary artery lesions*** where the shear stresses of arterial blood are highest.

In questo caso, per "shoulder region" si intende il margine laterale/esterno della placca aterosclerotica (e ci sono tantissimi riferimenti per "shoulder region of the plaque" su web). Non si tratta dunque di una regione "anatomica".
L'unico riferimento trovato in italiano sembra interessante:
