When the balloon is inflated, the stent expands, locks in place and forms a scaffold. lo STENT è un tubetto che impedisce all'arteria di richiudersi con il tempo o sotto l’azione degli stessi fattori che avevano portato all’occlusione primaria. In parole povere dovrebbe essere un "sostegno" del vaso.
