English to Italian translations [PRO]
English term or phrase:near-line
Today, most automobiles, or anything else for that matter, tend to be manufactured using a cellular approach. For example, there may be two cells in each of which a car is having its transmission system fitted. The car that is completed first will be moved on to the next cell.
‘This is a sort of near-line, not an in-line, situation since the two cells are not hardwired together and if one cell stops it does not stop the other one.’
