Ho trovato la seguente definizione ma mi chiedevo se non ci fosse un'espressione più concisa.

Immagini base del set cinematografico, che vengono riprese e registrate con una cinepresa per poi essere inserite all’interno del computer: in questo modo possono essere elaborate e modificate con inserti di immagini digitali o di oggetti e attori ripresi di fronte al blue screen.
