English to Italian translations [PRO] Art/Literary - Poetry & Literature / idiom
English term or phrase:to put on one's metal
from the novel by Patrick Hamilton, "Hangover Square" the Ninth Part, p. 221 Penguin Classics, 2001.
Quoted in the novel as a Roget's Thesaurus entry for "stimulate" but I cannot think of an equivalent Italian idiom.
