is, they both believe that there are real meanings *to* which fleeting, unformulated
experiences *point*. Despite many differences, there is something
that Rogers’s visceral sensations and Freud’s fleeting free associations have
in common. Both *point to* inner states that have not been permitted to reach
consciousness.
