Tech/Engineering
English term or phrase: rift, grain, head-grain
in some materials, such as granite, 3 directions with respect to fissility are recognized:
rift: the plane of easiest splitting
grain: the plane of next easiest splitting
head-grain: the plane of hardest splitting

eurodic dice:
head-grain=piano resistente = the direction at right angles to both the rift and grain in which the stone does not split readily

non so quali sono i corrispondenti italiani e non riesco a trovarli
