A musky is a fish. A short word for muskellunge, or maskalonge or maskanonge and it is a large North American freshwater game fish. Similar to a pike but bigger.
How can I translate it into Italian? Is there a word for it?

where its scientific name is shown as "Esox masquinongy" (family: Esocidae, in Italian Esocidi).

In Italian it is called "Luccio Nordamericano".
It doesn't exist in Europe, where it is found the similar Esox lucius (called "Luccio Nord Europeo" in Italian)
