English to Japanese translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Computers: Software / Embedded system
English term or phrase: Semantical bridge
There is this expression in the text explaining the verification tool which is based on model checking technology.
I don't know exactly what "Semantical bridge" means.
The exact phrase is "XXXX(product name) as Semantical Bridge". Can somebody help finding the Japanese translation for this? Thank you very much.

Japanese translation:セマンティクス変換システム
Explanation:
Assuming that this is a bridge between two programming languages, XXX is a part of a language conversion system that handles semantics as opposed to syntax.

Suppose a conversion system that translates a programming code "printf ("Hello world")" to "writeln('Hello world')". Conversion of " to ' is handled by a syntax converter and conversion of printf to writeln is handled by a semantics converter. These converters may be separate programs or parts of a single program.

XXX is probably such a semantic converter.

I set my confidence level to 2 because I am not sure if I am guessing correctly. More context would help.

I was just wondering why it was called "semantical bridge" instead of "semantic bridge" which sounds more normal if it means セマンティック変換システム. My current conclusion is that "semantical bridge" might mean a converting system that is aware of semantics.

Then the translation might be something like: セマンティクスも理解して(コードを)変換するシステム.

Forgive me for such a non-elegant translation, but I've got to go back to my work :-).
