English term or phrase: Our dentist
How do you say "our dentist" using Roman alphabet in a way that is the same if the people saying "our" are men or women? I know for "my dentist" is not possible to say it the same way as it depends on the gender of the person saying "my"
TRANSLEX International, Inc.
Japanese translation:Watashitachi no haisha (san).
Explanation:
"Watashi" is a polite, common word for "me" in Japanese. While the word is the conventional I-pronoun for women, it is actually unisex, and completely appropriate for both men and women who are speaking relatively politely. The "tachi" at the end of the word implies the plural, and changes the word to "us" or "our."
