Greetings

Towards the end of the introduction to Melissa Mohr’s history of swearing, the author writes, “The ears of ancient Romans burned with the “plain Latin” they heard and saw all around them.”

So it's ‘plain Latin’ in this sense that I am looking for, almost ‘crude Latin’.

Best wishes, and many thanks,
