English to Lithuanian translations [PRO]
Bus/Financial - Finance (general) / mortgages
English term or phrase: tracker rate
The phrase occurs in the sentence "your mortgage will be changed to our standard tracker rate unless otherwise agreed". I understand that the phrase "tracker rate" means that the rate of interest payable on the loan follows or tracks the interest rate charged by the European Central Bank.

(palūkanų) norma su bazine dalimi

I am afraid, there is no simple Lithuanian term for "tracker rate". Of course, we can create a word-for-word translation "sekamoji (palūkanų) norma", but such combination of words is not used and would not be understood. In this situation, I suggest to use the shortest possible combination of words explaining the meaning of "tracker rate" – rate (of interest) with base part (e.g. LIBOR, rate set by BOE, etc.). (Another part is margin ("marža"), rate of interest set by bank.)

"Lietuvoje dažniausiai suteikiamos kintamos palūkanų normos hipotekos paskolos, kai palūkanų norma susiejama su LIBOR... Kintama palūkanų norma nustatoma paskolos išdavimo momentu ir priklauso nuo kokios nors kitos rinkoje esančios palūkanų normos, pavyzdžiui, LIBOR arba Iždo instrumentų pelningumo." Kancerevyčius G. (2006), Finansai ir investicijos [434 p.]

  • London Interbank Offered Rate (or LIBOR) is a daily reference rate based on the interest rates at which banks offer to lend unsecured funds to other banks in the London wholesale (or "interbank") money market.
  • Atsižvelgdamos į šį reikalavimą, Komisijos tarnybos iš naujo apskaičiavo bendrai taikomą palūkanų normą. Atitinkama etaloninė palūkanų norma yra 8,52 % ir ji buvo gauta pagal mėnesines komercines palūkanų normas, kurias tyrimo laikotarpiu
