Public here denotes public-listed company whereas private'd be like plc or our sdn. bhd.Incidentally, for a clearer understanding, there's also "PIPE: Private Investment in Public Equity" = A transaction in which accredited investors are allowed to purchase stock in a public company, usually below the market price. The stock is registered with the SEC so that it may later be resold to the public. I've done similar translations b4. hth |
