Explanation:
Actually, A-MMI has got the idea right. Flagsigns are used like 'papan tanda', displayed clearly for everyone to see. They're very eye-catching and aim to highlight products and attract buyers. So, in a sense, they do give out 'signals' or 'messages'.
In my experience working with advert and PR agencies, I've come across these terms being used:
1.paparan
2.papan iklan
3.papan tanda iklan
4.papan pameran

It's subjective, really.
