English term or phrase: Self or SeaWolf
We are told that the Surname SELF or SELFE is a Norwegian name for SeaWolf.
Seeking any confirmation.

Hallo !

I agree with Invild, I have never heard any of those names before in Norway.

I tryed to think of names close to those,
came of one male first name Sølve,
an Icelandic name which means yellow/pale.

Sølv is the Norwegian word for silver, is that the colour of the sea wolf ?

Maybe we were chasing up the wrong tree. You mentioned "pale" and "silver" - similiar? Hows this, the coat-of-arms has a silver fluer. Other names in the area of significance were: Saulf & Saolf, both possible SELF variations.

I don't know if this helps, but to my knowledge there is no such surname as Self or Selfe in Norwegian. The only connection that I can see in this case is that Sel means seal.
