Hello John,

Lura is a geographical name and by a google search I found the link underneath.

Lura is described as a part of the town Sandnes, close to the city of Stavanger in the South-Western part of Norway.

As a background information I can tell you that many Norwegians have surnames that are the names of the farm/place where the family comes from.
Lura could originally be a farm that developped into a bigger place.

Lur in Norwegian is smart but lura has no separate meaning to my knowledge (other than the one mentionned above)

Good luck !
