Namaste/Sat Sri Akaal/Salaam Explanation: We have got the above equivalent for Good Morning in Panjabi. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2003-12-08 07:44:23 (GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I find it pertinent to make a mention about certain facts in this context. If you are in Pakistan or if you wish to bid *good morning* to a Muslim in Panjabi anywhere in world, you should say *salaam*. On the contrary, if you want to say good morning to someone in India or Hindus anywhere in world in Panjabi, you should say *sat sri akaal* or *sasriaakaal*. Otherwise, Namaste may also be used. The choice is yours! -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2003-12-08 15:22:40 (GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Typo : Please read *equivalents* in place of *equivalent* above. I regret I just missed to include the Sikhs as well. I am giving the revised sentence hereinbelow: On the contrary, if you want to say good morning to someone in India or Hindus and SIKHS anywhere in world in Panjabi, you should say *sat sri akaal* or *sasriaakaal*. |
