The drive belt is tensioned as follows:
A. Loosen the screw in the slot of the belt tensioner and that of the pivot, then loosen the lock nut of the screw at the end of the belt tensioner.
B. With the use of a special tool measure the tension of the belt at point "X’’, by “pinging” the belt.
The required measurement at ’X’ is:
-With normal fan: 183 Hz ±6 Hz
-With viscous coupling: 200Hz ±6 Hz
C. If the value is lower, screw on the screw at the end of the belt tensioner, try measuring again if the result is in the required tolerance.
D. Tighten the pivot screw, the one for locking in the slot and the lock nut of the screw at the end of the belt tensioner.
