Degradation with cyanogen bromide of thrombin produced 6 fragments from the B chain and the intact A chain.

Good separation was obtained in 2 steps on a Sephadex column in 20 mM acetic acid. In the first step the digest was separated. 4 fractions were obtained. The first one contained the A chain; and the B chain had N-terminal Leu-, Thr- and Phe-.
