Explanation:
First off, your IDLE pin does not rev anything. It is typically a screw that holds the accelerator down to prevent the engine from shutting off. There are two things you may need to adjust to fix your problem; here's what I would do:

First look at that idle pin. The little flap on the accelerator coil thing should be resting on the pin. If not, then your accelerator cable is too tight. If this is the case:

Adjust the accelerator cable so that it is looser. Its just two bolts on either side, loosen the one closest to the accelerator coil thing, and the tighten the one on the other side. That will loosen the cable itself.

Now if when you crank the car, it idles smoothly (at 900rpm more or less, each engine is different), its most likely the above problem. If it idles high (1000+rpm) then the idle pin is most likely screwed in too far, you need to crank the car up, and SLIGHTLY unscrew the pin.. a little bit goes a long way.. until the engine idles smoothly, but sub-1k rpm.

This will most likely fix your problem.
