It is a good question to take up here regarding the tone of the wording. Is this a manual that tries to be user-friendly, hence somewhat colloquial, or is this a strictly technical manual intended for servicemen? May I observe that connecting to "an ac" is not very technical and is not in common usage in English. [In fact, "an ac" is really an air conditioner, since there is only one source of alternating current, so "an" is unnecessary. There is, of course, an ac current, with "ac" as an adjective.] |
