Now-casting is the estimation of the present rather than the future. The method tries to predict
present values of indicators for which up to date data is not available. It uses past data of the
indicator to be now-cast and data of related variables, which are available much sooner than
data on the indicator of interest.
Usually, a model-based approach is followed for the now-casting, which builds a model of the
indicator’s evolution in time and of its correlation with related variables; the model is fitted to
available data and an estimate (now-cast) for the current value of the indicator is derived.

:) :) ja tam nic nie mówię, ale raz zdarzyło mi się wstawić do dokumentu UE przyzwoite tłumaczenie zwrotu, to zebrałam od wiadomo kogo takie baty za nietrzymanie się ustalonej przez nich terminologii, która również spełniała warunki KIT-u, że powiedziałam sobie, iż nie warto się wysilać. :)

:) pewnie tak, ale dzisiaj jest piątek, dzień bezmięsny, więc spoko, nie zeżrą :)

Asker: Dobrze by było, pani Tereso : ). Dokument znam, bo pracuję częściowo w oparciu oń, ale akurat w tym miejscu tłumacz nie wiedział, o co chodzi, i wstawił Kreatywną Improwizację Translatoryczną (KIT), i tak "The now-casting and estimation techniques" przekształciły się w "Obecnie stosowane techniki przyporządkowania oraz techniki kalkulacyjne". Dokumenty UE po maju 2004 roją się od błędów, ale to, co się wyprawia w dokumentach sprzed 2004, nie dotyczących bezpośrednio naszego kraju, przekracza wszelkie granice.
