English term or phrase:amplify exceptions
jest to termin z tzw. solution-focused therapy.Ktoś zna jego polski odpowiednik?
The second stage involves identifying and amplifying exceptions. Therapists help clients identify exceptions through presuppositional questioning that creates expectancy for change (O'Hanlon & Weiner-Davis, 1989). For example, it is important to ask, "When has there been a time when you coped better with the problem?" rather than, "Has there been a time when you coped better with the problem?" The latter is a yes/no question that leaves room for clients to respond negatively. The former carries with it a sense of expectancy that there have been times when clients have coped better with the problem. If exceptions are identified, clients are helped through various solution-focused questions to amplify exceptions. One of the main purposes of amplifying exceptions is to help clients identify differences between the times when they have the problem and the times when they do not. An example of such questioning might be, "How did you make that happen?"
