English term or phrase:relationship vs. relation
....relationships are associations between entities. The entities involved in a relationship are called its participants. The number of participants is the degree of the relationship. The entities involved in a relationship are called its participants. The number of participants is the degree of the relationship. (The degree of a relationship is similar to, but not the same as, the degree of a relation, which is the number of attributes.)
Explanation: these two words are very close in meaning although relationship is fairly abstract, it has an emotional load.
A relation, on the other hand, can equate a relative (as in "all my relations" meaning all my relatives, these flesh and bone entities). This is how I see powiazania and zwiazki: fairly close but worth distinguishing.
