Polish translation:zaciskanie
Explanation:
The whole procedure of rivetting is "nitowanie" in Polish, while rivet is "nit".
But you apparently need name of the action that actually immobilizes the rivet in the hole(?)
Usually, the most popular rivet is either banged by some more or less specialized hammer at the end opposite to its head.
For tube-like rovets - such as on jeans - you use a tool that spreads-out the tube rivet but to crim a rivet seems illogical because rivetting means immobilizing this piece bonding your material parts togethewr by EXPANDING this bonding part (the rivet) and crimping means rather shrinking then blowing-out, expanding.
Anyway, crimping, e.g. distillery closing whisky bottles is 'zaciskanie' or 'obciskanie' in Polish.
