Preciso de ajuda para traduzir este termo! Eu sei que Stalag o nome dado s prises/campos alemes, mas porqu 9??
Poder tratar-se de alguma referencia ao filme Guerra das Estrelas (o protagonista principal fantico desse assunto e aparecem muitas referencias irnicas relativas a esse filme no decorrer deste livro)e eu confesso que j l vo muitos anos desde que vi o dito...

A cena a seguinte: o filho "prdigo" chega a casa depois de uma longa ausencia. A me (a perfeita dona de casa e me) prepara o jantar e ele e o pai esto na sala.
Aqui vai o contexto:
As I looked down dolefully at the plate in front of me it occurred to me that really I had only myself to blame. I knew full well that my mum was for ever mixing up my favourite anything with the favourite anythings of my long-flown-the-nest siblings. Not that what was sitting on the plate was any of my brothers' or sister's favourite anything - other than, possibly, their favourite culinary nightmare: two pork chops, three large spoofuls of mashed potato, gravy so thick you could stand a knife up in it, carrots, peas and...sprouts. Boiled into submission, stinking green balls of soggy-leafed affliction sprouts. My eyes darted fevershly around the living room to see what the only other diner at Stalag 9 thought of the cuisine. My dad was lodged in the armchair he claimed as his kingdom, watching an early news buletin on TV, while chewing........

Thanks a lot, thats what I actually thought, but it was hard for me to grasp that even ironically, someone could compare home (with a loving father and mother -even if maybe a little too much) to a camp/prison of war. I guess its just the British humour, or else I am getting old...
