Esa pergunta aparece pelo menos duas vezes por mês. Vamos lá à explicação: João compra um livro na Amazon.com e debita o cartão de crédito de Maria, por via de safadeza. O cartão de Maria é debitado pela operadora de cartões, que, igualmente, credita a Amazon.com. Maria, ao descobrir a safadeza, reclama e exige que o débito seja estornado do seu cartão. A operadora do cartão de crédito estorna o débito [isso se faz por meio de um crédito de valor igual] e, para não ficar no prejuízo, precisa estornar o crédito antes feito à Amazon com, o que se faz por meio de um débito.
