This is the potential applied to the orifice plate. This potential has the greatest effect on the amount of fragmentation of the ions in the orifice skimmer region of the source area. The declustering potential is the difference between the orifice voltage and the skimmer voltage. The higher the voltage the greater is the amount of declustering.
