Por isso, acho acho que em vez de considerar apenas o sentido de "perseguidor", pode-se também pensar em algo como um "indivíduo importuno" (importunador), na mesma linha de sentido de "assediador", já proposto por um colega.

Vale lembrar que, em registros lingüísticos mais contemporâneos e coloquiais, o termo se aproxima do sentido de termos coloquiais brasileiros tais como:
- "pentelho" (Dicionário Aurélio: "Indivíduo maçante, aborrecido, chato") ou
- "grudento" (Dicionário Houaiss: "que ou o que não se desprende, não larga de outrem, que ou o que está insistentemente buscando companhia")
