English to Portuguese translations [PRO] Bus/Financial - Economics
English term or phrase:anti-carry
"Currencies with low interest rates in the money market, like the Japanese yen, appreciated during the recent liquidity crises, whereas high-yielding currencies, such as the Australian dollar, depreciated somewhat.
This general anti-carry mood has been driven by declining risk appetites.
However, valuation gaps between expensive high-yielding and attractive low-yielding currencies are still wide. So, we expect the recent trend to continue and suggest maintaining a moderate preference for currencies with low interest rates (an anti-carry stance)."
