entre biologos e geologos marinhos em Portugal como uma palavra portuguesa nomeadamente em compostos como intertidal","subtidal","microtidal","mesotidal","macrotidal",o que terá
resultado da aparente dificuldade em criar em portugues um adjetivo a partir de "maré".Considerando os sufixos com o significado de "relativo a", os mais produtivos serão talvez neste caso "al" e "tico".Teríamos assim "mareal" ou "marético" como hipóteses teóricas. Sucede que "mareal" já é utilizado esporadicamente por alguns
biólogos. Julgamos,pois,ser este o adjetivo a usar preferencialmente para traduzir "tidal".
