Asker: mais adiante no mesmo texto há esta frase: "It is difficult to inflate the lumen if it is impinged on or has been invaded by extreluminal masses." Por isso penso que não pode ser "massa invasiva". Deve haver outro termo

Penso que aqui há que respeitar o significado de "impinge = or infringe upon; advance beyond the usual limit" traduz-se por"impingir; chocar com; influenciar; tocar, por em contacto".
