A mean-spirited person here described herself as a "brass-balled feminist poet and scholar". I have no idea what that *means*. "Brass-balled" is not an adjective that strikes me as desirable or attractive. In either gender. Why would anyone *want* to be "brass-balled"? It implies that one is aggressive, pushy, domineering, rule, loud, and oblivious to others. It doesn't imply courage or determination. Those are *quiet* virtues. "Brass" is never a good quality.
