Aqui nos EUA é um termo bastante comum, como por exemplo o caso do OJ Simpson, aonde forensic foi altamente utilizada

Sei que a palavra não existe em português, mas, como se trata de um conceito inventado (que muito bem poderia ser denominado auditoria), talvez a solução seja criar o termo em português, assim como gestão virou gerenciamento, listar foi incorporado aos dicionários como arrolar em lista, etc. No começo, pode-se usa-lo entre aspas e, à medida que for se tornando mais comum, simplemente remove-las e aguardar que os aurélios da vida o acatem como um neologismo informatiquês.
