English to Portuguese translations [Non-PRO] Bus/Financial - Slang / Money
English term or phrase:Dockery money / Dockery bail
these expressions come up on an episode of a TV show where a guy has a type of business that seems a bit dodgy, although I'm not really sure what this business is about exactly. I don't have much context. I know that it is set in the New York City area and that they keep lots of money in a safe, and not much contact with the police.
They say the following sentences:
"As long as the Dockery money is safe, I don't give a shit."
"You worried about the Dockery bail?"
"Let's just say that Dockery money is not entirely kosher."
They do keep it with a capital letter in all instances, but it doesn't seem like someone's name to me. I was thinking something like "agiota", in Portuguese. Any ideas?
com a palavra hebraica "kosher" que é o mesmo que "halal" em árabe... na última frase o personagem diz que que o dinheiro não foi ganho totalmente por via legítima... é bem possível que o termo esteja ligado às atividades ilícitas.
