English term or phrase:meters draught
River transport remains an important means of transportation, carrying approximately 5% of freight over the country's 1,600 kilometres of inland waterways. The Rio Uruguay is by far the most important of these rivers, and oceangoing ships of up to 4.2 metres draught can travel north as far as Paysand£. Vessels with a draught of up to 2.7 metres can travel upstream as far as Salto.
Explanation: According to the Longman Dict.of English Language and Culture, "draught" is a nautical term (usually spelled "draft" in Am. English) which means "the depth of water needed by a ship so that it will not touch bottom". So, I would suggest a translation like: "embarcações de calado de 4,2 metros..."
