Embossing sau Emboss Machining.
Nu este vorba despre ambutisare, matriţare, ştanţare etc. Deci nu se referă la o prelucrare prin deformare plastică.
Este vorba despre Embossing pe maşini-unelte cu CNC, cu următoarea definiţie dată de client:

EMBOSS MACHINING
In the case of the contouring, the tool cuts along the side-face contour of the machining profile and performs in-feed machining in the tool radius direction.

Imaginea exemplificativă prezintă o secţiune transversală printr-o bară de material rotundă, al cărei profil este adus la o formă pătrată prin frezare; nu ştiu dacă freza este verticală sau orizontală.
Nu înţeleg alăturarea între Embossing şi Contouring, deoarece aceşti doi termeni apar în alte locuri cu semnificaţii diferite.
