Ce este asistentul maternal
Este persoana atestata care, pentru o perioada, ia unul sau mai multi copii in ingrijire la domiciliul sau, ca urmare a deciziei Comisiei Judetene pentru Protectia Copilului. In momentul in care primeste in plasament sau in incredintare un copil, asistentul maternal semneaza un contract de munca. El beneficiaza de toate drepturile unui angajat la o institutie de stat, fiind platit, insa raspunde penal daca i se intampla ceva grav copilului.

Din moment ce termenul folosit in definitie e 'persoana', fara a se specifica genul, as spune ca se poate folosi generic (asistent paternal/maternal nu sunt in opozitie ca mama/tata, iar contextul nu cere neaparat o disociere, disocierea father/mother exista doar pentru ca nu e un termen generic in engleza...).

Exemplul dlui Albu imi justifica argumentul meu, asa ca il voi cita:

La Direcţia Judeţeană de Asistenţă Socială pentru Protecţia Copilului (DJASPC) Botoşani sunt înregistraţi aproximativ 400 de asistenţi maternali profesionişti. Dintre aceştia, au ales să fie tătici "profesionişti" un număr de 27 de bărbaţi. i au fost acceptaţi să desfăşoare această activitate de asistent paternal profesionist în urma anchetelor sociale la care ei au dovedit pe lângă pregătirea corespunzătoare şi calităţile necesare unei asemenea munci.

Deci termenul generic este de 'asistent maternal, ergo, in logica acelui text, 'asistentul paternal' este un tip de 'asistent maternal'. Faptul e discutabil din doua motive: nivelul limbajului din ocurentele pe net (mult mai putine ca in cazul 'a.m.') ale acestei sintagme e indoielnic, si e mai degraba de presupus ca au incercat sa evite ceea ce li se parea a fi monstruozitatea faptului ca un barbat sa fie un 'asistent maternal'. Insa insasi logica determinarilor atributive sugereaza, si e argumentul cel mai important, ca asistentii, atat barbati cat si femei, sunt INLOCUITORI AI MAMEI (care e indispensabila, spre deosebire de tata). Sper ca aceste argumente sa fie suficiente, iar daca folositi 'asistenti paternali', o faceti pe riscul dv.

Andrei Albu: Feriţi-vă de "verdicte" pe care nu le puteţi susţine. Nici eu nu voi mai polemiza, am multe alte priorităţi. Dar noroc cu ceilalţi colegi, care, şi ei, au discernământ şi confirmă răspunsul corect. Salutări distinse.

Denise Idel: Şi atunci ce se întâmplă în familiile în care părinţii sunt de acelaşi sex (bărbaţi)? Atunci cum se traduce foster father (http://www.thefreedictionary.com/Foster father)? Tot asistent maternal? E vorba de părinţi/"funcţia" de părinţi, nu de maternitate.

-> S-ar parea ca nu ati citit comentariile mele, dar sunt doi asistenti maternali, ca in cazul oricaror altor de familii... Cum am explicat deja, 'asistent maternal' inseamna asistent al 'functiei' materne, nu asistent(a)-ca-mama/tata (gramatica nu permite).
