Paper matches are sold in matchbooks, each containing 20 or more matches. bloknot s otryvnymi listami? Explanation: I am just guessing. Trying to imagine how one thing could have acquired a meaning of something else. A matchbook is so that one can tear one match at a time so maybe this is the key. Maybe not. Perhaps you can give us a sentence where it is used or a context. This would help. Or maybe it is just a "spichechnii buklet" like people suggested already. |

Though my friend journalist proposed a different answer, I am not sure the above suggestions are wrong. See below what I found on the web - Anatomy of a matchbook. Миниатюрный формат Explanation: I'm sure you don't need anyone to tell you what a regular matchbook is. As far as the matchbook format - I've come across that expression in the past, so I think Gala's first suggestion was correct. I guess I'm not the only one who's always second-guessing himself.
