Explanation:
zap ray частенько встречается в фантастике, нечто вроде стращного убийственного оружия, бластера и т. п.

Тут она, мне кажется, водила из стороны стороны чем-то, словно поражала всех, кто там сидел, вот таким невидимым лучом.
