Science - Biology (-tech,-chem,micro-)
English term or phrase: met
Acute leukaemia: immunological markers and gene rearrangements.

написано: + (- in met).

Explanation:

MET ( HGFR) met proto-oncogene (hepatocyte growth factor receptor)Other names c-met http://www.infobiogen.fr/services/chromcancer/Genes/METID131...
The MET receptor (1408 amino acids) is initially synthesized as a partially glycosylated 170 kDa single chain precursor. Following further glycosylation, it is cleaved at a basic amino acid site into an a- and b-chain. http://www.bloodjournal.org/cgi/content/full/90/11/4450
Hepatocyte growth factor-scatter factor (HGF-SF ) mediates mito-, moto-, and morphogenic effects through the MET receptor, a membrane bound tyrosine kinase. HGF-SF/MET signaling is mitogenic for a large number of epithelial and endothelial cells and activates organ regeneration. HGF-SF transcripts have been detected in various myeloid cell lines.
http://clincancerres.aacrjournals.org/cgi/content/full/9/1/1...
c-Met is a tyrosine kinase receptor for hepatocyte growth factor and suggested to be involved in oncogenesis ormetastatic phenotypes in many malignancies. Adult T-cell leukemia (ATL) is a neoplasia characterized by massive invasion of the leukemic HGF, also known as scatter factor, was identified as a chemoattractant for a variety of cells.
http://www.hms.harvard.edu/armenise/symposia/symp5_2001/symp...
The second pair consists of a scatter factor, hepatocyte growth factor (HGF), and its receptor Met, a tyrosine kinase from the MET/RON/SEA oncogene family. Although HGF and Met are important during normal embryonic development, they have also been associated with malignancy when mutated in certain ways.

http://www.bloodjournal.org/cgi/content/full/102/1/284
In particular, CD2 was expressed on 96% of the abnormal cells from the MET-1 patient examined ex vivo and on 99% of the spleen cells of the MET-1–bearing NOD /SCID mice
....the limited expression of CD2 that is restricted to mature T cells and T-leukemic cells including MET-1 leukemic cells provides the scientific rationale for its use in antibody-mediated immunotherapy.

metastatic cells do not express CD2

Explanation:
metastatic cells

Several antigens associated with normal cell types (Lineage
markers: CD2, CD3, CD10, CD16, CD18, CD31, CD64, and
CD140b) were found not to be expressed by the cancer cells
based on analyses of tumors that had been passaged multiple
times in mice.
