Explanation:
as a result of a MERGER we may have two variants:
(from the Longman Dictionary of Business English)
a/ the ownership of two companies, often about equal in size, is combined to form one new company, the shareholders of both the old companies being given shares of the new;
b/ one company, usually the larger, obtains the ownership of the other, which then becomes a subsidiary company and may or may not keep its name.
В Вашем случае, я думаю, это вариант b/ - можно даже сказать,
"уцелевшая компания" - surviving..
(Если же, это всё таки вариант a/, то смело можно писать "новая компания", "компания, образовавшаяся после слияния").
Любопытно употребление surviving - not, say, 'winning company' but 'surviving..'
