It would be very normal for the defendant, having elected summary trial, to plead not guilty before a bench on another occasion; but it would seem inconceivable that anything properly regarded as a trial of the information could take place before anything other than one court constituted in a single manner.

Explanation:
I would suggest posing this question as "English monolingual" and ask people well-versed in the British version of the common law as to what is the "trial of the information". In the American version, it's just "a trial" - судебный процесс.

Information - вид первоначального документа (жалобы), с помощью которого начинается уголовное дело.

Но с термином trial of the information в США несколько юристов, у кого я спрашивала, не знакомы.

Т.к. trial по отдельности и information по отдельности имеют четкое терминологическое значение, я побоялась давать своё вольное толкование того, что может означать этот термин.

Мне кажется, нужно спросить на English monolingual - так больше выхода на переводчиков, знающих британскую юриспруденцию.

Было бы нормально, если обвиняемый, избрав суммарное (упрощенное) судопроизводство, заявил о своей невиновности перед присяжными, которые собрались для слушания другого дела;но невозможно представить, что то, что обоснованно носит название судебного слушания по обвинению,может происходить иначе как перед единым судопроизводством, созванным для слушания одного дела.
