to pre-sell candidates - проводить предварительную подготовку потенциальных покупателей)


Explanation:
1)проводить предварительную подготовку (обработку)потенциальных покупателей

т.е. предварительно знакомить потенциальных покупателей с качеством товара, ассортиментом, возможно бонусами, и т.д.
В данном случае такое предварительное ознакомление достигается при помощи книг и кассет.

2)проводить предварительную подготовку (обработку)потенциальных сетевых "бизнесменов" - распространителей продукции

Оба эти варианта сводятся к одному, поскольку, насколько я знаю в сетевом маркетинге все распространители продукции являются также и потребителями.
