Initially for every startup the diverter valve is in @@@@divert position ("ground position")@@@@@ and the polymer melt is flushed through divert position for a few minutes. Once the polymer melt is clear and passing through all the holes in the die plate ("spaghetti mode") the position of the diverter valve is then taken to @@@@through position@@@@@ and further operated as per logic of the extruder.
