English term or phrase: diabetic coma
What's the Russian for diabetic coma? The thing is I don't have English-Russian dictionary.
It's a severe metabolic derangement that occurs in the absence of insulin. Insulin allows the body to absorb glucose into cells for energy production. In the absence of insulin, the body starts to break down fats for fuel. A metabolic byproduct of fat metabolism is referred to as a ketone. The presence of elevated blood ketones in this setting is known as diabetic ketoacidosis. In extreme, untreated cases, this can lead to coma and death.
Many thanks.

диабетическая кома
Explanation:
diabeticheskaya koma

Diabetic coma (alternative names: DKA, ketoacidosis) is defined as a complication of diabetes mellitus that results from by-products of fat metabolism (ketones) when glucose is not available for a fuel source in the body.

Its Russian counterpart is «диабетическая кома”, according to my electronic dictionaries and a large number of Russian-language web sites that I found. Below is an example from one of them:

Russian example:
“Диабетическая кома развивается из за недостатка инсулина в организме у больных сахарным диабетом.”
