English term or phrase: blood chemistry
What is it? And what's the Russian for it. References are welcome. Many thanks.
Russian translation:Химическое состояние крови, (биохимический, химический) состав крови, (редко ->) химизм крови...
You might use as well the combinations
but please be careful with the last one.
I can give some excerpts from serious sources (Britannica) which clarify the use of this combination in English:
1.... This is especially true of cells in the lower parts of the brain (such as the hypothalamus) where some cells have been found to be sensitive to
changes in b l o o d c h e m i s t r y (water and other products of digestion) and even to changes in temperature within the brain itself.
------> (here I would translate as ... оказалось. что некоторые клетки чувствительный к изменениям в ХИМИЧЕСКОМ СОСТОЯНИИ КРОВИ )
2. ...Some evidence supports this claim in that infant mortality rates are lower when the manganese b l o o d - c h e m i s t r y level is maintained to a specific degree.
------> (here I would translate as уровень десткой смертности меньше того, когда (БИО)ХИМИЧЕСКИ ЗНАЧИМЫЙ уровень СОДЕРЖАНИЯ марганца поддерживается В КРОВИ в определенной степени)
So, things slightly difffer from case to case:)
Would you need more info for your concrete case, please let me know directly. Please take into account that I was among the editorial team engaged in realizing the project of translation of famous "Stedman's Medical Dictionary" into Russian (1995). A new edition is in plans but we were very tied with tracking alll those whole 38-39MB files from place to place:)
