Уважаемые коллеги,

помогите, пожалуйста, правильно перевести термин:

The fetuses at 1000 mg/kg/day showed an increase in embryo-fetal death and occurrences of malformations at low incidences in one or two litters: microphthalmia, open eyelids, cleft palate, brachymelia (***zygopodium malformations***), and fused phalanx.

Вообще-то, во многих источниках пишут"зейгоподий", но откуда взяться дифтонгу "ей" в слове zygopodium - определенно латинского происхождения? Зиго- - хорошо известная составная часть сложных слов, означающая "двойной", "парный", "соединенный" (от греческого zygon).
