See below. Explanation: Below if the definition of "on-the-job" from Webster's: done, received, or happening while in actual performance of one's work, e.g. on-the-job training. Also see some examples I found through a web search, which illustrate this meaning: On-the-job training (OJT) is one of the best training methods because it is planned, organized, and conducted at the employee's worksite. OJT will generally be the primary method used for broadening employee skills and increasing productivity. It is particularly appropriate for developing proficiency skills unique to an employee's job - especially jobs that are relatively easy to learn and require locally-owned equipment and facilities. http://www.doi.gov/hrm/pmanager/ed6b.html What is OJT ? OJT refers to any training activity conducted by companies for employees at the workplace. OJT can be learning through guided practice or classroom instruction followed by guided practice at the workstation. http://www.ite.edu.sg/~cetweb/ojt5.htm Depending on the context, this can be translated in a variety of ways, like «подготовка (обучение) работников на предприятии», or «обучение работников на предприятии», «обучение без отрыва от производства», «производственная практика (обучение)» (this one is closer to «industrial training”), etc. In fact, there is a large number of alternatives, from which to select a translation; one can even say «на предприятии организованы курсы», or the like. The main idea to be rendered is the fact that the training is conducted at the employees’ workplace. By definition, this kind of training is given while the employee is in the actual performance of his (her) duties. Therefore, I believe that the best options are those that I found in MultiLex 2.0: обучение по месту работы (obucheniye po mestu raboty) подготовка без отрыва от производства (podgotovka bez otryva ot proizvodstva) Hope that this helps. обучение по месту работы Explanation: On-the-Job Training can be provided to eligible individuals. This type of training allows an individual..... http://mobiletel2.mobiletel.com/~twc/otj_training.htm Firms in the U.S. invest billions of dollars annually in workforce training. Growing evidence of the effects of this training on worker productivity, wages, hiring and turnover has led researchers to gradually incorporate the role of training into their analyses. On-the-Job Training, by economists Barron.......new evidence on the effects of on-the-job training (OJT) -- including data that refute a key prediction inherent in current OJT theory. http://www.upjohninst.org/publications/titles/ojt.html :) Lingvo 6.0 |
